Letter from the Principal's Desk

Apparently, our PR team includes the Barbers !

Dear GGIS Family,

Starting off with a few responses I received in real time from prospective parents during our admissions interviews…

“We picked GGIS because, in my friend circle, there is not one parent who doesn’t believe in and love the school in every way.”

“We want schools that don’t put too much pressure on our children. We want mental health to matter.”

And lastly, one that left me quite amused…

“My most trusted barber of several years tells me that he has children coming into his shop from all kinds of schools. But the children from the colourful school? They never cry. They always smile. This proves you have happy and brave kids here.”

I am now wondering if we should add Happy Haircuts and Happier Children to our school brochure!

Jokes apart, something else stood out. Many new parents want to join GGIS because they want to find their friend circle here. They hear about the events, the trips parents take together (even though we have to remind them not to miss school!), and initiatives like Book Clubs, Founder’s Flea, counselling sessions, parent workshops, and so much more.

No surveys, no fancy presentations, no carefully curated testimonials. Just people talking about us in the middle of everyday life.

And perhaps that is the best kind of feedback a school can receive.

Which brings me to something rather lovely.

Last week, we received hundreds of applications from families wanting to join GGIS. After several rounds of conversations and interviews with our leadership panels, we are happy to welcome 150 new families into our community across GGIS and aTaleier.

We also had to say no to many.

And yes, we have been picky. Deliberately so.

Because admissions are not just about filling seats. They are about finding families who believe in what we believe in.

The culture of a school is shaped by everyone who walks through its gates.

The children, the teachers, the support teams, and every parent who becomes part of the journey. The kind of community we build depends on what we choose to value, what we stand up for, and how we treat each other along the way.

And that brings me to the part I am most proud of.

GGIS does not spend a penny on billboards, radio ads, or paid advertising to bring families through our doors.

We have something much better.

You. ❤️

You tell your friends about us. You share your experiences with other parents. Your children talk about their school. Your families recommend us to other families. Sometimes, apparently, even your barbers are doing our public relations!

And that is how we grow.

Not because we are perfect. Not because every day is a great day.

But because, somewhere between the good days, the difficult conversations, the growing pains, and the little moments that make it all worthwhile, we have managed to earn your trust. Something that takes a lot of time and authentic effort.

So, to our existing families, thank you for being the reason another family discovers GGIS.

And to the 150 new families joining us, welcome. We hope you will find your own reasons to love this school.

Happy Dussehra, everyone! May we continue to build this community together, one connection at a time.

Love, luck and light,
Shivani M.
