Dear GGIS Family,
Recently, Saumya Ma’am and I visited a renowned IB school in Hyderabad. We walked into the campus with curiosity, hope and a genuine desire to learn about its practices, pedagogy and experiences. With annual fees of ₹17.5 lakhs, we were naturally curious to understand what the school offered and what we could learn from its approach.
At GGIS, one thing is certain. We believe in walking into every room with humility, knowing that there is always more to learn and that we must get better every single day.
During our visit, I asked a few student guides what had motivated them to volunteer for IB Manthan. Their instantaneous response was, "Because we get to skip class for a full day, Ma’am!"
It made me smile. Children will be children, everywhere.
Later, a senior teacher shared that one of her biggest challenges was finding enough time to do her core duty: teaching. The school had a calendar filled with events throughout the year.
I found myself reflecting on these two very different conversations.
We often look at other schools, organisations and institutions and imagine that they have figured it all out. We see the visible successes, the scale, the infrastructure and the opportunities, while experiencing our own challenges up close. In doing so, comparison can sometimes make us forget that every institution has its own journey, its own questions and its own work to do.
Staying curious keeps us grounded and humble.
There is so much out there to learn. No matter how established an institution becomes, there is always room to grow. This applies to schools, businesses, entrepreneurs and each one of us as individuals. Every organisation has its own definition of success, its own priorities and its own challenges. What looks bright and shiny from the outside may not tell us the whole story.
For me, curiosity is not simply about collecting new ideas. It is about having the humility to ask questions, the courage to examine our own practices and the wisdom to recognise that learning does not stop when we reach a certain position.
Our journey at GGIS is our own.
We will continue to learn from others, question our practices and evolve, without losing sight of who we are and what we believe in. We will celebrate our progress while remaining honest about the work that lies ahead.
Because, ultimately, our work is not about having all the answers. It is about showing up every day with willingness, consistency and courage to do better for our children.
And perhaps, in all our striving to build something meaningful, we must never lose the curiosity that keeps us learning and the humility that keeps us human.
Where courage blooms!
